In March 2013, at just 8 months old, Noah contracted meningococcal septicaemia (meningitis) and within hours almost very nearly died. Thanks to some wonderful staff at Cardiff's University Hospital of Wales he was kept alive, but in the following days as his body battled the virus, he lost circulation to his extremities.
After almost six weeks in hospital he finally beat the horrible disease, but sadly had his lower left leg amputated and he lost small parts of the tips of his remaining fingers and toes.
Noah is now a year old and to our delight a very healthy, bubbly adventurous young boy. We now move to the next face of his road to recovery which is getting him to walk like all the other children, and that means prosthetic limbs. As he is a growing boy, he'll need limbs the same rate as normal healthy children need new shoes.
To help raise funds for Noah to always have the financial security for treatment, recovery, physiotherapy and specialist limbs we have started a charitable fund for him and have for some time been raising money through events and donations for him.
